................................................................... Ceiling Lights

.....

................

We needed about 8 ceiling lights to light the bathroom and the kitchen area. Checking prices for that many lights made me think there must be a cheaper way than buying 8 individual lights. I then bought two of the lights shown above and took them apart to create the 8 separate lights.

When I took the picture above I had already removed one of the side light fixtures from the center of the fixture. The 4 pieces where held to the center with threaded rods and nuts. I also bought some of the ends shown in the package above and some gold electrical wire and some gold chain.

................

Once the individual fixtures were removed from the center piece I took them apart and soldered a piece of the gold wire about 16 inches long on to the bulb receptacle in the fixture. Then re-assembled the light and screwed the end shown in the package from the first picture onto the fixture. I ran the wire out the end and attached the gold chain onto the end and wove the wire through the chain.

The picture above is one of three lights in the bathroom that are all on the same circuit and wall switch.

I finished by using some all thread rod and a nut to attach another end to the plate that covered the box in the ceiling. Next I just wired the lamp to the wires in the ceiling box. This light is one of the 4 that are in the kitchen.

The globes also came from Home Depot. You can get them in a lot of different styles. This picture shows 3 of the 4 lights in the kitchen. There are two on the ceiling, one above the sink and the last is above the kitchen island (not shown in this picture). One more light will go in the craft area.

We needed lights that would hang below the ceiling joists and this proved to work well for us and was at a price we could afford.
