The car gets a new blown motor for 2005. Hooley was very fortunate to have his old high school friend, Jerry Pace, buy a new Dart SBC block as a foundation for the new motor. Thanks so much Jerry.

The new motor was build by Buzzard Motors who are located near Kansas City. Here the motor is on their dyno. We were unable to obtain max. torque and HP numbers due to some dyno restraints. The motor was making 700 HP at 6500 rpm and still headed up at that point. We hope it is a 750-800 HP motor.

.......

The block is a Dart SBC with a 4.125 " bore. Heads are Dart Pro 1, 230 cc intake runners 67cc chambers with Jesel rocker shafts. The Crank is a Howard 3.75 stroke running Howard 6."rods.

Pistons are Diamond custom made. There is a Comp roller cam and lifters. A BDS 8-71 Blower with Inderle Bug Catcher fuel injection. Also shown in this shot is an oil accumulator. We had hoped to run a dry sump, but ran into drive problems. We hope we have our oiling problems of last year fixed.

Here is the new motor installed in the car about the first week of July, 2005.

The two pipes coming out of the firewall are the water lines. The top one is the return to the 18 gallon tank. The bottom pipe is the outlet to the in-line Mezier water pump (new for this year). The pump is just above the left side of the tire. From there the water goes to a splitter block and then to both sides of the front of the block.
