The two stoves. The one on the left is gas and I only used it the first winter. Since then the house has been heated with the wood burner to the right (there is another page on how I built it). The winter of 2007-2008 was cold and snowy yet I was able to heat the house and shop with less than 2 cords of wood (less than $200 total for the winter). The green house heats the shop most days and the sun room heats the house during most days. I usually just have a 3 log fire in the evening and some mornings.
