.....................................Sheetrock for the Shop/Garage

.....

.................

I wanted to get the garage doors on so that I could lock up the building at night and have it completely closed in. Before I could install the tracks for the garage doors I had to hang the sheetrock in the bays where the doors would be installed. I also sheetrocked the ceiling in this small storage room. I did that so I could build a wall where the large cable is hanging down. On this wall will be the main electrical box for the building. The cable is a 200 amp service cable for that box. The other end goes to a main shutoff and meter on the north side of the building.

.................

Before I hung the sheetrock I had to put in the wiring and insulation that would be covered by the sheetrock. This is the garage bay with the slightly sunken floor on the north side of the shop.

.................

This is the lift bay area with the high 12 foot ceiling.

.................

Another shot of the lift bay. The cutout on the right side of the ceiling is for one of the lift posts, since the lift is slightly wider than the bay.

To the right you can see the 10 foot ceiling that is the ceiling height for the rest of the shop area. I didn't want a really high ceiling for the whole shop as it would be more area to heat. I'll separate the lift bay from the rest of the shop with some curtains so I don't have to heat it if I'm not using it.

.................

I ran outlets down both sides of the top of the lift bay for florescent lights on the side walls. They will be turned off and on with a normal wall switch.
