.................................--- Port Side Under Seat Storage ---

Almost everyone stores items under the port seat in a S. It comes with a bin that was a poor attempt at an ice box. I have no idea how it would of held water when the boat heeled. We took that out since it doesn't offer that much storage space even if not used as an ice box.

We bought containers of different sizes to put down in this area as it will receive some water down there if your chain plates leak at all and most people's do. The arrow also points to an area forward where we push 3 smaller containers into that hold items that we might never need while out, but still want to have onboard. We can either take the above containers out and reach forward to retrieve them or there is another access hatch forward of this that is opposite where the head is on a normal boat.

For us the top arrow points to the container with our set-up gear in it and a few other items. The middle arrow points to the container with our sailing gear like main sheet, boom van, preventer lines, gloves and other lines. The bottom arrow points to a container with hand tools, mostly box/open end wrenches used for set-up also. In addition there are two other large tool boxes on the boat with a more complete selection of hand tools, wrenches (SEA/Metric), nuts/bolts, fittings, 12 volt powered hand drills and bits and other hand tools. Hopefully there isn't too much that could go wrong that couldn't be fixed underway.

Another view of the smaller tool box. I have this as it is easier to get into for the tools normally used to set the boat up, putting on the rudder, dealing with the mast and gin pole, etc..

The small arrow to the left points to the bilge pump discharge line with an on/off valve in it. The right arrow points to where we have more items stored that are accessed....

... by opening the hatch (bottom arrow) under the aft bed. We have a plastic container directly under the hatch and then push some lines fore and aft of it that can get wet, even though we have never had water in that far back. The top arrow points to the bottom of the shelf for the ship's computer and to a 12 volt 3 plug outlet. We have about 5 of these around the boat.
