Our Mac came with a tiller cover, but when we bought the bimini we ordered it in Sunbrella Ocean Blue as that was a color Ruth and I really liked. The tiller cover was in Sunbrella Pacific Blue and we wanted the tiller cover to match the bimini and the generator cover she had made.

Ruth used the original one (arrows) as a pattern and made the new one larger in diameter. We wanted it larger as the original one was too tight and hard to pull over the self-release cam cleat on the tiller that lets the rudder come up if it strikes something.

She bound the edges with seam binding (bias tape) and sewed the edge to prevent fraying, which Sunbrella will do.

Once it was sewn together at the bottom edge she hemmed the end for the tie rope that holds it on like the original one above the new one. The hem isn't shown above.

Here it is in place with the generator cover she made above it. Also be sure and check out what she did to the factory pop-top cover that isn't too great if you haven't already done that.
