Since I don't think I want to put any money into this 750 cc motor I wanted to just run it stock as a base line. Stock isn't too bad as I picked this motor as it is one of the strongest 750's out there at about 127 HP. In keeping it stock I wanted to use the stock air box if possible ( black thing below exhaust pipe). It ended up being very close to the exhaust pipe (top arrow) and I couldn't raise the pipe as it is at the top of the body now. The lower left arrow points to the air intake and there is a similar one on the other side.

I decided to cut the top of the box (arrow) out.

Here it is removed.

I took some 30 gauge aluminum and made a new section to replace the plastic one. I used a sand bag and bid domed end mallet to create the middle depression. Then I ran that back and forth ................

............. through the English wheel to remove most of the dents. Around the edges I used my shrinker and stretcher to move the whole thing in the different directions I needed until it fit. Then I use some high temp silicon seal and screwed it to the top.

Here it is installed. Not great, but hopefully things might not melt now. We will see.

To increase the effectiveness of it I made this crude shield and .......

......... held it between the pipe and the top of the box with hose clamps. There is now an air space between the pipe and the shield and the shield and the top of the box.
