Bonneville 1999 One Of My Favorite Places

On The Salt - 1999 at B'ville was great. The tear provided some much needed shade and great company. The '37 Ford belongs to my buddy, Rod Petty of Moab. It has a blown flathead under the hood. In the picture on the left is Jim Lytle who had all the Allison cars back in the 60's (Big Al, etc.) and who now lives in Hawaii. I've meet up with him a couple times at B'ville.

In the center is Rod and to his right is Sam Welch my other good friend who is building a '28 A Roadster pickup he has had since the 50's. Under the other tarp is Driver (Ken) from Rodders Round Table (actually Idaho) his brother and son. I couldn't believe how cool it stayed in the trailer all day. I would pull out on the salt at first light, set up and make breakfast. What a life.

This nice pickup and tear are out of Illinois and I'll get the fellow's name. I feel bad because I met him in '91 or '92.

The tears above and below are camp at the bend in the road (area is referred to roads end gang) and is where I camp. This is the last place to camp before getting to the salt which is about 5 miles down the road (no camping allowed on the salt). In the pictures below Pinky has the gray 30's Ford Pickup with the Kenskill and the other teardrop is Terry's. They are both from California.

If you like fast cars you have to make it to B'ville at least once. Problem is once you go, once is not enough. For pictures of the really fast cars check out the SCTA site.
