Top In The Down Position (front view) -- Now we are starting to get somewhere. Here the top is in the down position. The top cross members have been welded in place and are 1 X 1 X .065 square tubing. The middle strap which runs from front to back over the top of the trailer is 1/8 X 1. The two on either side of it are 3/16 X 1/2..

Top In The Down Position (rear view) -- Looking at the back we can see how the rear of the trailer will roll under. The rear will be protected (somewhat) by a bumper made out of 1 X 1 square tubing (see later pages).

Top In The Up Position (front view) -- Here is the top in the up position. The winch (2000#) on the tongue raises and lowers the top via cable and pulleys. There will be more detailed pictures of the pulleys on later pages. There is one pulley set in the center of the front (you can see cable going up and over it if you look close). There are two more sets just to the rear of the door openings. Two cables come off of the winch and go in under the front floor. One immediately goes through a lower pulley, then straight up and over a top pulley, then straight down where it attaches to the bottom of the top ( and thus pulls the top up). The second cable goes under the front floor and then under the the floor in front of the bed/seat area. Here it attaches to two cables that go to either side. They pass through pulleys in the center and then off to the side and through a pulley that sends them straight up to and over the last pulley and then down to the bottom of the top. The cables and pulleys to the top back are barely visible in the top picture on this page.

Top In The Up Position (back view) -- This is the back view with the top in the up position. When the top is up the back wall of the top will fold down into a rain gutter that will go across the trailer at the junction where the top goes up. This rear mini wall will have a sliding window in it (this is done, but no pictures yet). There will be sliding windows in both doors and a window in the front of the top which will be in front of the kitchen area when the top is up.

Behind the trailer and to the left in the picture is the tow vehicle.
