Kevin Johnson -- The following information was sent to me by Kevin's dad. Kevin is a teenager and is our next generation of Rodders. He has done a great job on his first rod (way better than I did on mine) and it is good to see him and his dad doing this together.

The truck is a 1955 Ford with a 350 Chevrolet engine. The motor was built by Kevin, with no help from dad. He is running a 700R4 transmission and a 9" Ford rear. Truck has tilt front end and a volare front suspension. The gas tank has been moved to the rear and the gas filler hole was filled along with the body seams. The truck has electric door locks. The dash is smoothed, glove box removed, and the gauges are out of a 1973 AMC "Hornet". The Truck is a work in progress. Interior is nothing more than a seat now. It is still missing the running boards. The running boards that Kevin has look like they were run over by a D-9 Caterpillar.

The truck is far from a show piece but Kevin is VERY proud of the work he has done on the truck. I wish my first car looked like this!

The picture below shows the entire collection of the Johnson family's cars as of last summer (2001). 1928 Ford Model A, Kevin's 1955 Ford Truck, 1938 Ford Tudor Sedan. 1960 El Camino (my work truck) and Paula's 1956 Nomad. All are in running condition and street legal except my Model A.

Better Go .... Kent
