................................. Interior Framing and Insulation

.....

.................

There really aren't too many interior walls in the house, but I'll try and go through the ones that we have.

The above picture shows the 6 inch wall that separates the living quarters from the shop. I insulated the wall to lower the noise level from the shop and also to insulate the living quarters as the shop will usually be at a lower temperature.

At the top of the wall you can see the hot/cold water lines that run over to the sunroom. There are metal plates covering them to protect them from nails/screws when the sheetrock goes up.

The door on the right goes into the house and the door to the far right goes into a storage room.

.................

This picture is a view into the storage room from the shop with the main breaker panel on the right.

.................

A view of the sunroom insulated and covered with a vapor barrier. The vapor barrier is always on the warm side of the wall and I really believe in them. They also really seal the house up and don't add that much to the total cost. The sunroom has 6 inches of insulation in the walls and 10 inch fiberglass bats in the ceiling.

.................

A view of the kitchen side of the shop wall. The shorter wall in the foreground is a wall on the north side of the kitchen and beyond that is the hall way from the shop and beyond that the bathroom.

This wall has 5/8 inch sheetrock on the shop side and will have 1/2 inch sheetrock on the kitchen side with that covered with tongue and grooved aspen. The additional sheetrock is an additional effort to keep shop noises out of the house.

(Final Note: The sheetrock plus the 6 inch insulated walls has kept noise from the shop out of the house. I have to make a LOT of noise for it to be heard in the living quarters.)

.................

This is the west wall of the living room craft area. Julie's craft area will be by the higher window on the right. There is a coat closet to the right of that area, which is filled with fiberglass scraps when the picture was taken.

.................

On the right is one of the closets in the bedroom with a TV and storage nook to the left of it.

.................

The other bedroom closet with the door to the bathroom to the right. The tub enclosure is behind that door, but it is just there parked and will go over further into the bathroom later.

.................

A view of the east bathroom wall showing the plumbing for the sink. The stub wall in the middle is where the tub enclosure will go (to the left of it). You can see the hot/cold supply lines in the short wall for the tub/shower.
