.....--- Temporary Wood Mount For Solar Frame ---
If you read through the build of the frame to hold the solar panels on the previous pages you probably couldn't help but notice that it is pretty large. I started to think to how we were going to install it when we got it to the boat.
I decided to make a quick wood support for it and take that with us and that is what is going to take place below. I am sure glad that I did this as it made installing the frame on the boat much easier.
..............
The first step was making some simple bases for four vertical stands out of a 2 X 4 and some wafer-board (use what you have for this build).
..............
The bottom arrow points to the base and you can see the vertical 2 X 4 has been added and also a couple side pieces at the top. These legs were hauled to the boat like this.....

.... after some simple braces were added to the bottom. I use what we call 'grabber screws' here, but are like deck screws other places.
..............
Above the frame is on the finished stand. Before the frame went up there cross-members were cut and added, arrows, and ....
..............
....also some simple diagonals. It is surprisingly ridge and ...

... supports the frame easily. I just took some guesses on the height of the uprights and got lucky when we got to the boat as you will see next. Finally the cross-members and diagonals were marked for reassemble and removed. It did not take long to build this at all and it was invaluable at the boat.
