...--- Tue. Night/Wed Morning - Dec. 14th-15th ---
Sorry no pictures as the following took place in the dark in the wee hours of the morning.
Ruth and I at this point had been living together for a couple years in total happiness at home, on the road and on the boat. We were both deeply in love and totally devoted to each other in every way imaginable. We were both also totally committed to each other for as long as we would live. The only thing missing was that we weren't legally married.
I wanted that to change and hoped Ruth did also, but had for some time put off asking her for fear that I might not get the answer I was hoping for even though I thought I knew what she was going to say.
Well at around 3 am on December 15 we were both awake in bed trying to endure the cold and started talking. I'm not sure what made me finally get up the nerve to ask, but I told her that I needed to ask her something and then asked her to marry me.
It didn't take but a second for her reply....YES.
Now all of a sudden the cold was inconsequential and we started talking about when and where.
Later we decided to do what others have done and in January after returning home from the trip we went to Vegas and married.
Life is good for both of us, the best it has ever been.
