.......................................................--- Rear Frame ---

................................

The start of the rear frame. The floor is very flat for a concrete floor but not what I am using for a final reference. There is a stainless steel wire stretched underneath the tube frame just above the "belly pan" that is used for the centerline. The bottom tubes are placed in reference to the wire and the rest of the structure is mainly done with a plum bob and square. The wire is held on the free end with a weighted jack stand and is aligned with a mark on the rear of the previously built cage structure. The fixed end is at the front of the car. Not the easiest way to do it, but satisfactory if you are careful.

13 degree engine tilt: Engine was tilted because I needed more room for the induction system. It will make the exhaust system tight but not as bad as it might look.

...........................

Engine right side: I'm going to tack weld everything together, pull all the sub-assemblies out and then finish all the welds later.

...........................

Front engine mount: 1/4" 6061 T6 used here. Tech II magnetic pick up and other items will be mounted on this plate.

...........................

Fabricated engine mount: Isolated engine mount made from 2 rubber donuts, rubber sleeve and inner bushing. I've used these on exhaust systems and they seem to be durable. The material is rock conveyer belt remnants. I'll also use a stock Saturn upper mount.

...........................

Left front engine mount: This might also mount a dry sump pump some day.

....................................

Rear frame fabrication: Still a few more pieces of tubing to fit in here.

.......................................

Rear view: The end! Total length is 22' 6". Room for two chute tubes and one 2 1/2" exhaust pipe.

.................

Transmission mount: Drive line will be in the middle of the car and straight to the differential. The real axle may get suspension.
