Jon Amo's ( Landracing.com ) 600 cc bike that set a 188 mph record. Not what Jon wanted, but still a record.
............................
He ran about a 215 for part of one run according to his data log, but then couldn't build boost for the rest of the week. Later he found it was a cracked header. I'm writing this on 9/14/06 and Jon is back up at World of Speed and hopefully getting the 200+ mph record he wants and this bike is capable of.
................................
Larry Forstall had three bikes entered at the meet, but wasn't able to attend (Larry I was hoping to meet you, Sum). This bike ridden by Steve Knecum set the fast time for a siton bike at the meet at 221.309 mph. This is a very respectable speed, but Steve wasn't very happy with it as it has run faster. They chased handling problems with it most of the week. He also ran it "naked", but I'm not sure of his speed running like that.
................................
This Busa was also Larry's and ran production and set a new production record at 205+. It was ridden by Mark Dellica (second from the right). Steve is to the right and I'm sorry, but I can't remember the other crew members names (send them to me). Larry had a third bike entered, the "guppy", but somehow I failed to get a picture of it and don't know the time on it.

Here is the NSU (Honda powered) from Germany. It ran around a 120 mph speed, but got a lot of press coverage. I got to know a couple of the crew members pretty well and had a beer with them at the bend in the road around dark. The one in the middle of the picture drove my pickup and got quite a kick out of that.

We went out past the pits and he drove real slow and I kept telling him to get in it a little, but he didn't. Then when we got in the pits with a lot of people around he drove fast and scared the shi* out of me. I wondered how I was going to explain the accident to my insurance company if we had one ;-).

The weather overall was great with some nice sunsets..................but..............
..................
..........two nights the wind came up and we had "white outs" from blowing salt that put visibility down to a few hundred yards. It would look like it was going to rain, but never did..
