Monday to Friday Anchorage: Slip at Jensen's Twin Palm Cottages/Captiva
Slip = 026°31.249 N -- 082°11.279 W
Captiva is an interesting place and easy to walk around as it isn't very big. One road north to south basically with some side streets off to the bay or Gulf side.
Above is the road entrance into Jensen's.
About a block up is a small store with a fairly good supply of groceries, but no large market by any means.
Next door is RC Otter's and we had a couple nice meals there..
A picture of Otter's from the street. RC is on a side street that goes down to the Gulf side beach.
Across from the store on the island's main road is the famous Bubble Room.
Another street view. It is actually 2 stories in the back and is a must see inside. We went there for desert and were going to go back for a meal, but didn't make it.
The Bubble Room's gift shop. We didn't go in there.
We did walk about 6-8 blocks to the Post Office and it was also painted in the Island's motif, or at least the drop box was.
Since it was almost Christmas some of the trees had these huge ornaments on them.
You can reach the Gulf side beach at a couple different...
...locations and walk along it for a long ways. You can't see them in the picture, but there are thousands of shells in the sand. In fact I think the sand is ground up shells.
The surf was up on the Gulf side and these guys were doing their best to look like they had grown up in Calif.
