- Read About Our Rugs Before Purchasing -

All of the rugs on our site are from Navajo weavers and have been bought directly from the weaver by us. Some of the pictures show the weaver holding the rug and some don't (sometimes we have not had the camera at the store or forgot to take the picture). We feel it is hard to judge the quality of the rug and the true colors by a picture, so we will do the best we can to match you up with a rug you will enjoy.

If you receive your rug and or not satisfied with it you have 30 days to return it. You will be out the $10.00 charge for the shipping to you and what ever it costs you to ship it back to us, but at least you won't have a rug you really don't want.

If you see something you like why not call 435/678-3620 or e-mail us about it.

COLORS -- It is about impossible to take color pictures of rugs and have them appear on the computer as they look in person. We feel the colors are crisper and more contrasting in photos than when viewing the rug in person, so be prepared that the rug might not look in person as it does in a photo.

TEXTURE -- It is also very hard to imagine the texture of a rug from a photo. It is just something that is hard to convey in a photo.

PRICING -- Our Prices are firm. We try to give the weavers what they ask for a rug and our markup is marginal.

SIZES -- The sizes of the rugs are in inches . The rugs were measured across the center horizontally and vertically. They may vary along the sides and might be more or less than the stated size.

WARPS/WEFTS -- You will see an approximate warp and weft count per inch with each rug. When the wefts are counted on one side this is doubled as there is a corresponding weft on the other side. This is approximate as sometimes it can vary at different parts of the rug. For example an older weaver with arthritis who has a hard time beating the warp down will have more wefts per inch near the middle and bottom of the rug versus the top of the rug. The better the weaver the more consistent this will be throughout the rug.

GRADING -- The grading you see with each weaving is an attempt by us to create some type of grading system. This is very hard to do as weavings are such a personal thing. Some people like a perfect weaving that looks like it was made on a machine and others like a weaving with more character where the weaving is not as precise. The following should give you an idea what the "GRADING NUMBERS" are suppose to convey. Don't think that a Grade 3 is necessarily less desirable than a Grade 1, they are just different.

Grade 1 -- A good representation of good weaving technique, edges straight, pattern centered and consistent, consistent weft and warp.

Grade 2 -- Slight variations to Grade 1. For example, the edges might go in and out slightly, or the tightness of the weft might be off in some areas of the weaving.

Grade 3 -- Major variations to Grades 1 & 2. For example the rug is not square by quite a bit. The patterns might not be consistently the same size. The tightness of the weft can vary to a great degree. In reality a large percentage of the rugs that are our best sellers are Grade 3. These often come from weavers who are quite old and people want to own a weaving by an older weaver. These rugs also have a lot of character and don't look machine made and can be quite a bit less expensive for the same size rug versus a Grade 1 or 2 rug.

Note: Please remember that all of these rugs are all hand done, without the help of any machine or heddle type loom. They take a tremendous amount of time to weave and these weavers are not making much money per hour for their artistic and weaving abilities. Please do not ask us for a better price on these rugs. I sure don't want to be the one to tell the next weaver that I can't pay her as much.
